Newborn Care Essentials
Next Class: Saturday March 16th, 2019 (12:00pm - 3:00pm) located at Bosom Babies (11010 101 Street Nw)
Your baby won’t arrive with an instruction manual so we are here to help support and prepare families for welcoming their newborn. This course will provide families with essential information and skills to become more comfortable and confident in how to care for a new baby.
In this 3 hour class, taught by a Postpartum & Infant Care doula, you will explore the first hours, days and weeks after baby is born. Everything from what could their skin & body look like, how to recognize hunger cues, sooth a crying baby and what does a safe sleep space look like.
Topics Include:
Newborn Appearance, Newborn Procedures, Newborn Behaviour
Feeding Overview (breast & bottle)
Umbilical Cord Care
Bathing & Diapering
Comfort / Soothing

If you are like the millions of mothers who’ve walked this path before, parenting will remind you – again and again – that you are utterly and completely human. Your offspring has the power to induce in you the greatest expression of love and the deepest well of frustration.”
“You may be wondering how it is possible to be filled with great, nearly overwhelming surges of adoration one moment and pushed to tears of exasperation the next? Welcome to Motherhood!”
